Our March meeting will be one commemorating the 155th anniversary of Sue Mundy’s capture at the Cox barn in Meade County, Kentucky. Jerome Clarke, “Sue Mundy,” Henry “Billy” Magruder, and Lt. Henry Medkiff were captured by Cyrus Wilson and 50 of the 30th, Wisconsin Infantry, March 12th, 1865. Three days later Clarke was hanged in Louisville, and Magruder and Medkiff imprisoned.

The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. and there will be a panel of five people knowledgeable of the guerrilla war, Sherrill Williams, of Vine Grove, Tim Watts from Nashville, Tenn., Chris Leuken, writer and Magruder researcher, Steve Straney local Meade County Historian, Dr. Tom Sabetta of Owensboro, Ky., and Gerry Fischer as well some others will moderate and ask questions of the panel. Refreshments will be served, and a number of honored guests have been invited, such as Steve Wright from Hodgenville, Ky., Becky Brothers from Bloomfield, Betty Darnell from Spencer County, Daniel Buxton, Caldwell murder researcher, Barbara Bailey, Samuels, Sayers and James family researcher and people from as far away as Columbus, Ohio. Come see and meet the largest group of guerrilla researchers gathered together in quite awhile. All MCHAPS meetings are free and open to the public.
